April 3
8:08 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Members responded to a hangup 911 call, and spoke to the caller who stated he was fighting with his ex. Members attended; investigation lead to the female ex being charged, she was held for a telephone bail hearing and released by a Justice of the Peace with conditions.
April 4
1:51 a.m. – Drayton Valley – area of the dump – Complainant reported that his step-daughter was on his property causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. Complainant reported she had choked him which was, “the final straw.” Members attended and tried repeatedly to have a conversation with the suspect, all attempts were unsuccessful. Members arrested the female and lodged her in cells to be held for a telephone bail hearing. The following morning, she developed a medical issue and was transported to hospital for treatment where she was released to appear in court at a later date.
8:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that his son was being posted about on Facebook, regarding an incident at the Skate Park and it was generating some unhealthy comments. Complainant requested police have the post taken down. Member spoke to the person posting who agreed to take it down; appropriate given that the boy is only 10.
April 5
12:26 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Members attended to a report that a car with two female occupants hit a pedestrian in front of the bar and left the scene. The pedestrian was transported to hospital with what are believed to have been minor injuries, and witnesses at the scene provided a suspect name. Members were able to locate the car and the two females at a residence in Brazeau County. The driver provided two samples of her breath, both resulting in a “caution.” The GDL driver was issued a provincial impaired driving suspension and two violation tickets. The file remains under investigation.
April 6
9:20 p.m. – Brazeau County – Easyford area – Complainant reported that her ex boyfriend was at the residence of her current boyfriend watching the residence and had then ran off into the bush. Members located the male who was held for a telephone bail hearing on charges of breaching a release order and criminal harassment. The male was remanded into custody.
April 8
9:05 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 48 St – Complainant reported that an SUV had passed a school bus with the red flashing lights deployed. Driver located and a ticket issued.
3:34 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a fraud that had been ongoing since December, resulting in a significant amount of cash missing from a business account. Under investigation.
5:57 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Elderly complainant reported being defrauded by an online caller purporting to be Telus checking her internet speed. Unclear what information was released, but later in the day it was discovered that $4000 had been accessed from two bank accounts. Under investigation.
6:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Member conducted a traffic stop with a male who appeared to be twitching and flailing about while driving. Member confirmed that the driver was not impaired by alcohol, though drug use was suspected. The driver was issued a 24-hour-suspension.
10:34 p.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Members were requested to assist a Parkland County Peace Officer who had conducted a traffic stop and suspected the driver was impaired. Member attended and the driver provided two breath samples, both resulting in a “fail.” The driver was issued a provincial impaired driving suspension and his vehicle was impounded.
April 9
10:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male and female shoplifting in a store, the male had very blatantly stolen a chocolate bar and ate it in front of the complainant. Member attended and arrested the male for theft. He was subsequently released to appear in court at a later date and issued a trespass notice for the location. The female will also be issued a trespass notice when located.
10:57 a.m. – Brazeau County – Members responded to a 911 call where a female requested police. On attendance it was determined that the female and boyfriend had been staying with her brother and got kicked outside because they were arguing. Investigation determined that the complainant had assaulted her boyfriend during the argument and so she was arrested and released with a court date.
4:03 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a family member missing, possibly in Edmonton with a boyfriend. Under investigation.
April 10
3:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported her grey Infinity mountain bike stolen from outside an apartment building. Under investigation.
