Mayor Nancy Dodds has proclaimed April 22, 2025, as Earth Day in the Town of Drayton Valley.
Earth Day started in April of 1970 and will be celebrating its 55th anniversary in 2025 with 192 participating countries and more than one billion people.
In the proclamation, Mayor Dodds says, “now more than ever, it is imperative for communities to unite and advocate for a sustainable future, safeguarding our natural landscapes and resources for future generations.”
Earth Day is held annually and serves as a day to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage people to take action to protect the planet.
