Elections Canada finalizes list of federal election candidates; seven certified in Parkland, five certified in Yellowhead

With just over two-and-a-half weeks to go before Election Day, April 28, Elections Canada has finalized the list of candidates in ridings across the country.

Six confirmed candidates are running in the Leduc – Wetaskiwin riding:

  • Ronald Brochu – Liberal Party of Canada (LPC)
  • Kirk Cayer – United Party of Canada (UP)
  • Christopher Everingham – Canadian Future Party
  • Jose Flores – People’s Party of Canada (PPC)
  • Mike Lake – Conservative Party of Canada (CPC)
  • Katherine Swampy – New Democratic Party (NDP)

Five confirmed candidates are running in the St. Albert – Sturgeon River riding:

  • Dorothy Anderson – New Democratic Party (NDP)
  • Brigitte Cecelia – People’s Party of Canada (PPC)
  • Michael Cooper – Conservative Party of Canada (CPC)
  • Lucia Stachurski – Liberal Party of Canada (LPC)
  • Jeff Willerton – Christian Heritage Party of Canada (CHP)

Four confirmed candidates are running in the Peace River – Westlock riding:

  • Luke Markowski – Liberal Party of Canada (LPC)
  • Darrell Teske – Independent
  • Landen Tischer – New Domocratic Party (NDP)
  • Arnold Viersen – Conservative Party of Canada (CPC)

Seven confirmed candidates are running in the Parkland riding:

  • Keri Goad- New Democratic Party (NDP)
  • Dane Lloyd- Conservative Party of Canada (CPC)
  • Ashley Fearnall- Liberal Party of Canada (LPC)
  • Wade Klassen- United Party of Canada (UP)
  • Jason Lavigne- People’s Party of Canada (PPC)
  • Kevin Schulthies- Christian Heritage Party of Canada (CHP)
  • Daniel Birell- Green Party of Canada

Five confirmed candidates are running in the Yellowhead riding:

  • Vicky Bayford- People’s Party of Canada (PPC)
  • Michael Fark- Liberal Party of Canada (LPC)
  • Dale Heath- Christian Heritage Party of Canada (CHP)
  • Avni Soma- New Democratic Party (NDP)
  • William Stevenson- Conservative Party of Canada (CPC)

Several candidates were shed by the Liberals and Conservatives in recent days over contentious comments ahead of the nomination deadline Monday.
