Proactive RCMP patrols have resulted in the recovery of a stolen truck and the arrest of a suspect.
Parkland RCMP officers say while conducting proactive patrols in the Wabumun area at around 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, they observed a suspicious truck and trailer and attempted a traffic stop.
The suspect fled the scene, however, a pursuit was prevented by the quick deployment of a tire deflation device. Once the vehicle was disabled, Mounties say the suspect fled on foot into a wooded area but was apprehended without incident shortly after with the assistance of RCMP Police Dog and Air Services.
Police say the truck and trailer were recovered from the scene and were confirmed to be stolen.
