7:02 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant called police reporting a male was in the hotel lobby and refusing to leave upon staff request, as he was not a guest there. The male was asked by police to leave the property, but came back two more times. On the second time he returned, the male was arrested for peace mischief and failing to comply with release order conditions and held for a telephone bail hearing. 42 year-old Sean Porter was subsequently released by a justice of the peace for court at a later date.
July 12
1:30 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Centre Court Area – Police received a report of a disgruntled male that complained to the Town about homeless people in the area and that he was going to start shooting them. Matter is currently under investigation.
5:22 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Police received a call for a single vehicle collision, where the vehicle had driven off the road and into a farmer’s field. Driver of the vehicle reported something hit and cracked his windshield, then he lost visual and ended up driving off the road. No vehicle occupants injured. Police attended to assist with traffic control until vehicle could be towed from the field.
10:07 p.m. – Brazeau County – Brazeau Dam Area – Call received from an Alberta government employee of people having an illegal fire near the Brazeau Dam, as there is currently a total fire ban. Members attended and located two fire pits that had extinguished fires; no one around anymore. Police are reminding the public of the current fire ban in Brazeau County.

July 14
1:33 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 41 Ave – Caller reporting it appeared someone had broken into their travel trailer overnight, as there were signs that it had been used and pry marks on the door. File still under investigation.
4:22 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Township Road 492 – Complainant reporting stunting street bikes and it looks like one possibly injured themselves. Police attended the area and located a totalled bike with debris on the road, and learned the driver went to the hospital prior to police arrival. The driver was eventually located and issued the appropriate fines for their driving behaviour.
5:06 p.m. – Brazeau County – Police received a call of a suspicious vehicle possibly scouting the caller’s travel trailer taking pictures. When the caller went to confront the vehicle, it left. Patrols were unsuccessful, and the caller was advised to call back if the vehicle returns.
6:43 p.m. – Tomahawk – Police received a call for theft of gas. Member attended and spoke with the complainant and obtained information on the suspect vehicle. File being reviewed.
7:21 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22 – While conducting patrols, a vehicle passed a police vehicle at an extreme rate of speed. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, and disengaged due to public safety concerns after obtaining the vehicle’s license plate. Later on, 19-year-old Teagan Marshall of Tomahawk was charged with multiple driving offences including flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and released after a bail hearing for court at a later date.
July 15
7:59 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant called reporting theft of gas from two work vehicles sometime in the last two days. The thieves reportedly drilled holes in the gas tanks of the trucks and left the site. File under investigation.
3:25 p.m. – Area of Drayton Valley – Police received a report of a suspected fraud where an unknown individual was advertising selling puppies. The caller became suspicious when the person was requesting multiple times for money up front and decided to call police. Police making attempts to follow-up with the complainant to obtain more info.
6:18 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Poplar Ridge Area – Police received a call for someone having a fire in their backyard, as the area is currently under a fire ban. Members attended and spoke with the homeowner, who advised they didn’t know about the fire ban. Homeowner warned and police ensured the fire was out before leaving.
10:36 p.m. – Tomahawk – 51 St – Complainant called reporting a fire at a property in Tomahawk, in the middle of the active fire ban. Police attended and spoke to the property owner, who advised they were unaware of the fire ban. Police ensured fire was put out before departing the property.
July 16
1:44 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Report received of a lime green bicycle was stolen from outside of a local convenience store. Investigation ongoing.
8:32 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – RCMP responded to multiple calls for a head on vehicle collision. Individuals involved in collision went to hospital. Police investigated matter and documented the scene.
2:21 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 48 St – Police were called for two children who were riding their bikes through the splash park while it was busy with other kids using it. Police attended and had a conversation with the bikers regarding bike safety.
10:58 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Madsen Ave – RCMP were called to the hospital to assist hospital peace officers with a highly intoxicated and violent patient. Police attended and had the patient moved to emergency room. Individual had approximately 4X the legal limit of blood alcohol content.
July 17
3:08 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Caller reporting a young male walked into the convenience store and stole some merchandise. Investigation is ongoing.
7:33 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 63 St – Report received of a suspicious vehicle parked at the gas station parking lot for an extended period of time. Members attended and conducted a traffic stop on the truck. An investigation was conducted where illegal cigarettes, controlled substances and open alcohol were found. Driver of the truck charged accordingly with multiple provincial offences.
2:08 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Police received a call from a male that he learned a vehicle he recently sold was stolen, and was trying to facilitate its return to police, then owner. Members working with the male on determining the origin of the vehicle.
3:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Report received of a domestic situation where the female victim reported being held against her will and assaulted in the residence. Police investigated and obtained statements, and the male was subsequently located and arrested after fleeing the residence. The male was held for a telephone bail hearing, then subsequently released by a Justice of the Peace for court at a later date.
7:58 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant called reporting shoplifting that just occurred. Investigation ongoing.
July 18
5:47 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Police received a call for a dangerous driver heading towards Drayton Valley. Police located the vehicle stopped on the side of the highway and determined the driver to be sober. Upon further investigating, it was learned the truck had no insurance and the female passenger was breaching a release order condition. Violation ticket issued for no insurance and vehicle towed. The female passenger was dealt with separately afterwards.
1:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Call received for a dog in a vehicle at the grocery store parking lot. Members attended and located the vehicle that was running and the dog inside did not appear to be in distress. The driver was located and spoken to about leaving animals in cars during hot days even if running, as well as leaving your vehicle running with the keys in it as an easy target for vehicle theft.
5:12 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 90 – Police received a call for two possibly missing people. As members were on their way to the call, the complainant advised that the two people had returned and left in a van, with the driver being intoxicated. Patrols of the area located the van and the driver failed a roadside alcohol screening. The vehicle was seized, the driver’s license suspended and appropriate impaired driving sanctions issued.
7:32 p.m. – Area of Drayton Valley – Police received a 911 call from an unknown male who refused to answer any of the dispatcher’s questions only stating that his sister had stolen his truck and was on the way to Saskatchewan. Upon police attempts to call and locate the male, he was refusing to answer his phone. Moral of the story: police cannot help you if you refuse to answer questions or co-operate with dispatchers.
9:13 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – While conducting patrols, members located a vehicle in the Dairy Queen parking lot that had a stolen license plate on it. Members were able to stop the vehicle before it could leave and arrested the lone male driver. 40-year-old Sonny White of Edmonton was charged with possession of stolen property and released for court at a later date, along with multiple other provincial traffic offences.
