Council for the Town of Drayton Valley has been recognized with a special honour.
Town council, along with General Manager of Municipal Services, Abid Malik, was awarded a 2022 Canadian Consulting Engineering Award of Excellence for Project Management.
In late 2019, officials say the Town of Drayton Valley began the process of upgrading the Raw Water Pump Station. This project was completed using the IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) Method, and was one of the first projects in municipal infrastructure to use this delivery method.
By using this state-of-the-art approach, Town officials say this project came in significantly under budget, and built an innovative, and visually unobtrusive new pump station. Originally forecasted at around $7 million, the final project was completed at $3.81 million.
