6:43 p.m. – Drayton Valley – RR 73 – Member assisted a town peace officer after two motorbikes fled from him at high speed. The bikes were located but the riders fled into an area with forests and fields and couldn’t be found.
March 22
9:57 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported hearing a patient yelling racial slurs at the doctor in a treatment room. Member determined the issue was over a past claim, and the doctor needed to check with an insurance provider to determine the problem. The patient became irate and started making racial remarks that others could hear. The patient had left the premise, so was contacted by the member to advise he is now banned; he was very vocal in stating his beliefs and that it is not illegal to say such comments.
3:21 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported an unwanted female had stolen from a store. Member attended and the female was banned from the location.
11:33 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reported an acquaintance had left her residence after drinking. Member located the male and the described vehicle. Driver provided two breath samples, both resulted in a “caution”, as a result, his license was suspended for three days and his truck impounded for seven.
March 23
5:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Complainant reported someone broke into his truck at a hotel, and tried unsuccessfully to steal it. Member viewed video and observed a distinctive grey pickup with blue fenders was involved. Members located that vehicle a couple hours later and observed a male and female in the truck, which then fled from police at high speed. Under investigation.
7:48 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Complainant reported a suspicious truck parked at the gate to a lease site. Member attended but the truck fled down the road at dangerous speeds. Under investigation.
8:27 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 St – Complainant reported tires slashed on both his vehicles, occurred overnight. Complainant has a possible suspect in mind. Under investigation.
1:09 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two shoplifters in a store. Member attended and found one had paid, while the other left without paying. Member located and arrested the female nearby, and recovered the stolen items. Both females were banned from the store.
7:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St S/Hwy 22 – Complainant reported the traffic lights not working, as they hadn’t changed in over five minutes. Member called the complainant who had since moved along. While on the phone the member advised the complainant that he had a warrant outstanding in Atlantic Canada that he should deal with. He said he would when able and hung up. Members are aware that stopping in the proverbial sweet spot is needed to activate some traffic lights in town.
March 24
10:34 a.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported someone tried to steal wire from a lease site by trying to pull it from the pole.
10:42 a.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 494/Hwy 759 – Complainant reported a suspicious black car with damage. Complainant advised that a male who looked under the influence of drugs was driving, and it took off north. Member attended and located that vehicle, now abandoned. Member confirmed the car was stolen from Edmonton. Patrols in the area didn’t locate the male or a possible second vehicle. Under investigation.
12:38 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported being scammed out of $2700 when trying to rent a home in Fox Creek. Under investigation.
6:09 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported her 2006 red Toyota stolen from a parking lot while she was at work. Keys had been left in the unlocked vehicle. Under investigation.
9:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a possible location for her stolen car (see 6:09 pm) as there is a tracker on the key. Member checked two locations, car not located at either spot. Complainant advised there is a delay in updating the location.
March 25
8:08 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported some copper stolen from a lease site in town. The theft could have occurred anytime since last May, as it was only discovered during yearly inspection.
12:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported possible theft of medications from her father’s care home. Under investigation.
2:24 p.m. – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge industrial area – Complainant reported fuel caps were taken off service trucks in an open yard, and fuel stolen. Occurred sometime over the past five days.
5:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to investigate possible drug trafficking.
March 26
11:58 a.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported an abandoned truck near a lease site, damaged with parts missing. Truck had been at the location for about a week. Member attended and confirmed the truck was stolen. Truck recovered, under investigation.
1:18 p.m. – Brazeau County – ATV trails area – Complainant reported leaving her truck at a rural location after it got stuck. The following day when the tow truck arrived numerous items had been stolen off the truck. Under investigation.
9:53 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported that while picking bottles he was assaulted by two unknown males. Under investigation.
