The Alberta Junior Hockey League has recognized two Drayton Valley Thunder players for their stand-out performances the week of Feb. 10-16.
Thunder Captain Cooper Brown has been recognized as the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week while Luke Marley has been recognized as the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week.
In back-to-back wins over the Devon Xtreme on Feb. 14 and 15, Captain Brown recorded five goals, including a hattrick on Feb 14, and four assists, for a total of nine points. In those same games, Luke Marley recorded one goal and four assists, for a total of five points and has an active three-game point streak.
The Thunder are currently on a four-game win streak and are looking to add a fifth win on Friday, Feb. 21, when they head out to Fort McMurray to take on the Oil Barons.
