Officials with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) have issued a Snow Squall Watch for parts of Brazeau County near Drayton Valley and Breton.
Meteorologists say a narrow band of snow squalls is expected to develop by morning, producing brief but intense snowfall and gusty winds to 80 km/h.
They note, snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably with changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres being common.
Officials say travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather and visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.
