Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a snowfall warning for Brazeau County and area, including Drayton Valley and Breton, effective as of 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18.
Experts are calling for heavy snowfall and are predicting total amounts of up to 10-15 cm.
The snow is expected to intensify throughout the day, moving east across the province before tapering off overnight.
Officials say visibility on highways may suddenly be reduced at times and are reminding motorists to drive to the current conditions by slowing down, turning on their lights and maintaining a safe following distance.
Updates will be posted to the Environment Canada Website as they become available.
