A new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) has been appointed for Brazeau County.
Brazeau County council says it is pleased to announce the appointment of Rudy Friesen as Chief Administrative Officer, effective Monday, July 15, 2024. Council made the appointment at their meeting held on Tuesday, June 18.
“Council looks forward to working with Rudy to do the work of Brazeau,” Reeve Bart Guyon says. “He has a great background in government and economic development that will help us to make the County an even better place to live, work and play.”
Friesen comes to Brazeau County with over two decades of leadership experience in the event, facility and municipal industries. Most recently he has served as the CAO at Bowden, Alberta. Officials say Friesen has been involved in many key aspects of importance to the County, including asset management, capital development and regional and rural economic development. Council says Friesen also brings a well-developed relationship with other levels of government to the table. Friesen says he was raised in and started his professional career in the agricultural industry, and still maintains a strong connection to primary production agriculture, most specifically the beef sector.
“It is an honour to be chosen by council to provide this important leadership role to the County,” Friesen says. “I look forward to a strong working relationship with council, administration and the community at large, to continue to advance the objectives of the County for the benefit of the residents it serves.”
