Emergency Management Preparation
Council directed staff to investigate Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) funding for planting edible trees in Cynthia and other Brazeau County areas, including costs.
FCM has partnered with Tree Canada to ensure local governments have access to key expertise and information that informs best practices.
The Edible Trees grant helps fight food insecurity by offering financial and logistical support to plant fruit and nut bearing trees and shrubs in communities on publicly accessible sites. A grant of up to $10,000 may be available.

Lodgepole Water Wells
Council directed staff to conduct a table top investigation on the water wells in Lodgepole to address resident concerns about dried up wells.

Agricultural Inspector Appointment
Council appointed Assistant Agricultural Fieldman Greg Cameron as a weed inspector, pest inspector, and soil conservation officer.

Final Budget Meeting Dates
Council set April 5 and April 8 as the dates for Council to deliberate the final 2024 budget. Meetings are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and are open to the public.
