Christmas comes to Drayton Valley this weekend.
The Drayton Valley and District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the Santa Claus parade on Dec. 3.
There is a different route this year. The parade will start on 43 St in front of St. Anthony’s School, then down 50 Ave before ending in the parking lot of the Drayton Valley Omniplex.
The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. You can find more information on the Drayton Valley and District Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
The Drayton Valley Thunder are also getting into the holiday spirit this weekend with their annual Stuff a Bus campaign.
On Dec. 4, the Thunder’s team bus will be in the parking lot of the Drayton Valley Wal-Mart and Canadian Tire. The team will be accepting non-perishable food items for the Drayton Valley Food Bank and new, unwrapped toys for Santa’s Anonymous. The goal is to get the bus stuffed full of donations!
The Thunder will be accepting donations from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Dec. 5, the bus will be in front of the Drayton Valley Omniplex. You will have a second chance to make a donation and finish stuffing the bus before the Thunder’s game against the Whitecourt Wolverines. Game time is at 6 p.m., and the bus will be accepting donations from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
You can find out more information at the Drayton Valley Thunder’s website, www.draytonvalleythunder.ca.
